- Compared with usual care, lifestyle intervention using educational support via the MetS app or booklet led to significantly greater reductions in body weight, waist circumference, body mass index, and systolic blood pressure, as well as increased total exercise time and amount, within 24 weeks.
- Educational support via the MetS app was superior to that via a booklet for lifestyle intervention.
- The Health Belief Model serves as an effective framework for designing intervention programmes for exercise initiation and adherence in patients with metabolic syndrome.
